I'm excited to announce that I will be a candidate for the Democratic nomination for State Senate for the Plymouth & Barnstable District, covering the towns of Pembroke, Kingston, Plymouth, Bourne, Sandwich and Falmouth.
I’ve always believed in the power of public service. Throughout my career as an attorney, social worker, and business woman, I’ve demonstrated the qualities needed to be an effective advocate: You listen. You stand up for what you believe in. And you don’t stop until you get there!
We are facing critical issues: a deepening income equality that endangers our middle class; changes to our climate that threaten our communities and our children’s very future; traffic, transportation & infrastructure issues that effect the quality of life of residents of the district; and a substance use and mental health crisis that has impacted the lives of so many we care about.
Watching what's happening in Washington D.C. has made me realize I can’t sit on the sidelines any longer. Massachusetts has always served as a beacon for the rest of our nation; now more than ever we need to be that again. Serving in the State Senate is an opportunity to address these issues and make sure that our region continues to be a great place to live, work, and raise a family.
I believe that a good leader is a good listener, so I am also eager to hear your ideas and feedback. If you would like to help, want to get involved, or have an idea to share please let me know. My email address is firstname.lastname@example.org. I would love to hear from you and I would love it if you would help spread the word about our campaign.
This is a major undertaking and I’m ready to dive in with all my energy, smarts, and passion.
I’m all in. Will you join me?
