On Thursday, June 6th, Marshfield Chamber and the Atlantic Resiliency Innovation Institute (ARII) met for breakfast at Haddad’s. Jim Cantwell spoke on behalf of Senator Edward J. Markey, who helped ARII get off the ground with a $1 million grant.

ARII is home to the Marshfield Coastal Hazard Lab, which studies coastal hazard events and implements mitigation strategies. The ARII team created and implemented Marshfield Coastal Academy, a workforce development program.

The Marshfield Massachusetts Chamber of Commerce, Northeastern University, The Town of Marshfield, and Marshfield Public Schools are proud to be part of a collaborative effort. This project, the Marshfield Coastal Academy, is not just a workforce development program but a regional hub for innovation and development. Your active participation in this initiative, your support, and your ideas have been instrumental in shaping this project. It is a testament to our shared vision for a thriving and innovative community.

On Thursday, June 6th, we, as a community, supported the Talking Information Center (TIC) at the Starry Night Gala at Indian Pond Club. TIC, a true treasure in our region, serves the blind and low-vision community with volunteer voices reading the news, providing community access, and more. Your unwavering support for this vital community resource, TIC, is a testament to our commitment to inclusivity and accessibility.

This event was a platform to showcase OCPC’s regional work and resources and discuss regional issues with legislators, including Senator Brady, State Rep. Kathy LaNatra, Rep. Muratore , Rep. Cassidy, and State Rep. Rita Mendes. The guests of honor were introduced by Becky Coletta, the President of OCPC, and it was a testament to our community's commitment to progress and collaboration.

The Pembroke Farmers Market, Touch a Truck Event, and Antique Car Show had the center of Pembroke buzzing with activity, good conversation, and community building!

Team Coletta also did a lot of door-knocking throughout the week and had the Hanson Volunteer Kick-off on Saturday, June 8th! See our post earlier this week to see snapshots from that fantastic day.
