Community is the heart of this campaign!

Community is the heart of this campaign, and today was another community day. Started the day with friends in Marshfield and then went out to See Duxbury, with stops at Bay Farm Montessori, Duxbury Bay Maritime School, the Duxbury Senior Center and the Art Complex Museum. I got to test out the rowing tank at DBMS. When I took an adult rowing class with group of friends at DBMS years ago, we first used our oars in the Bay. The tank really makes the process of learning easier, and allows rowing teams to practice to reach new levels of competition. DBMS is a treasure that provides meaningful access to the water for so many throughout our region. At the Senior Center, Tony Kelso drew us into the grand history of the Myles Standish Hotel, which has been converted most recently to a private home. The Art Complex Museum is a local treasure with programs and exhibits that regularly bring new art to us. There were many more events that I could not see today at the South Shore Conservatory, the Duxbury Free Library, the Alden House, and Crossroads. These events gave a sampling of the many programs offered over the summer and throughout the year by these nonprofits who contribute so much to the Duxbury community and the region.
