Meeting with labor leaders

Great discussion about supporting workers and growing the middle class tonight with labor leaders. We heard from Chrissy Lynch, the first woman to lead the Mass AFL-CIO, who grew up in Pembroke and had her first job at Dunkin in the Center. Chrissy talked about the AFL-CIO’s role in finding common ground between the many unions under their umbrella, starting with the basic premise that they all want to grow the middle class and support the dignity of all individuals. The panel included Lisa Field from the Massachusetts Nurses Association, Beth Kontos from AFT Massachusetts, Vinny Coyle from Ironworkers Local 7 and John Mahoney from IUEC local 4 Elevator Constructors, led by Brian Dunn, political director of the Mass AFL-CIO. The event was organized by the Pembroke Democratic Town Committee, led by Sue Runne and Liz Benotti.
